Bishop's Convocation 2012
Dear Friends:
Our plans for the Southwest Texas Annual Conference Bishop's Convocation 2012 are complete. As always, I encourage your attendance at this important gathering.
The dates are February 27-28 at Mt. Wesley. We shall begin with registration at 10:00 a.m. on Monday and conclude with Holy Communion at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Our colleagues from the Rio Grande Conference have been invited
to share in this experience.
I am especially excited about our theme "Leadership Through a Time of Change" and our resource persons.
Presenter L. Gregory Jones, former dean and now senior strategist for Leadership Education at Duke Divinity, will be leading us in an assessment of current trends essential for leadership in the 21st century church.
Associate Professor of Church History at Perkins School of Theology Ted A. Campbell will lead us in an engaging examination ofleadership ...Wesleyan style.
We shall share together in worship, fellowship, inspiration and education. The Orders and Fellowship will also meet. I hope and pray you will find our time together important for your life, ministry, and leadership in the church.
