CHRISTIAN EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD
Southwest Texas Conference

The Christian Educator of The Year Award is given to a lay person, paid staff member or volunteer whose servant leadership in the local church and beyond exemplifies excellence and effectiveness in sharing the knowledge of God’s saving love as known in Jesus Christ. Since 2000, the award is given annually by the Southwest Texas Conference Board of Discipleship Christian Education & Formation Committee and presented at Annual Conference in honor of the enduring ministry of Christian Educator Kathleen Jones, an ordained deacon and Minister of Education at First United Methodist Church, Austin.

CRITERIA
Nominee must be:
•    a United Methodist lay or clergy person, paid staff member
     or volunteer
•    a person who exemplifies servant leadership in the local
     church and beyond (district, conference, national)
•    a person whose work in Christian education shows
     excellence and effectiveness in sharing the knowledge
     of God’s saving love as known in Jesus Christ
PROCESS
Send a narrative of how nominee meets the above criteria, referencing specific
examples. Postmark by March 31st and mail (or email) to chair of committee
below. Award is presented annually at SWTX Annual Conference Awards Banquet.
