Feb. 3 My Job Workshop to inspire, inform

The Austin District My Job Workshop will be Feb. 3 at First UMC’s Schmidt-Jones Family Life Center, Lavaca and 13th Streets in Austin.
The event offers many opportunities for learning and leadership training. There is a great lineup of workshops and classes with wonderful leaders that will inspire and inform. There is something for everyone in your church.
As is the tradition in the Austin District, the Laity Celebration will immediately follow the My Job Workshop. Nomination forms have been mailed to senior pastors and lay leaders.
One change this year is that we are asking for one nomination for the Bishop’s Exemplar Award and one nomination for the Innovation in Programming Award from each church. This form must be signed by the senior pastor and either mailed or delivered to the district office.
The Laity Celebration will begin at 12:45 p.m. in the Schmidt-Jones Family Life Center of First UMC, Austin. Lunch will be catered by Pok-E-Jo’s at a cost of $8. Tickets are to be purchased at the door.
Cokesbury Bookstore will be at the My Job Workshop to offer one-stop shopping for books and supplies for 2007. There will also be tables and booths with ministry ideas for you to take home to your church.
