UM Women prepare for yearly leadership training
Austin District United Methodist Women will have their annual leadership development event Jan. 20 at Northwest Hills UMC, 7050 Village Center Drive, Austin. “Rekindle the Gift” is the theme for this year’s event, which will plan the year ahead.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. Plenary speaker is Sue Sidney, president of the Southwest Texas Conference UMW. She will share her thoughts on “Who we are as United Methodist Women” and “Why we should be in mission through giving.” Representatives from local units will participate in the morning gathering as all share their pieces of the PURPOSE puzzle.
There will be officer training sessions for each officer in UMW, experienced and newly elected. Program resources for 2007 will be available. Plan to come to share in worship, training sessions and fellowship with other women united in the PURPOSE of United Methodist Women.
