Older Adult Ministry Fair
planned Feb. 10 at St. Luke’s
A Corpus Christi District Older Adult Ministry Fair is set for Feb. 10 at St. Luke’s UMC, Corpus Christi.
The baby boomers are growing up. Now is the time to prepare. The district Council on Older Adult Ministry invites everyone to participate in the ministry fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
St. Luke’s UMC is at 3151 Reid Drive (behind the HEB store near Luby’s on Alameda). Call (361) 854-5374.
This event isn’t just an ordinary ministry fair but has been named “Branson by the Bay” because there will be food, music and fun as well as exciting ideas for churches.
We expect even better than Mel Tillis because all church groups that sing or perform are cordially invited to share their talents and gifts for this event. Churches, please plan to demonstrate any or all ministries offered at your church, with special emphasis on older adult ministries.
To assist in the planning, please call Wilma Williams at (361) 985-6582 to confirm your presence and submit your needs for this event, such as a table, an easel, sound set up, etc.
District Superintendent Barbara Ruth joins the district Council on Older Adult Ministry in requesting that all reading this story encourage their churches to participate fully. There are benefits to being a connected church, but only if we accept the gifts offered and stay in touch.
Come join in the fun and education. Stay the entire time or leave when it is convenient for you. We look forward to seeing you there.
