May 4-5 program to explore ministry with older adults in 21st century
Pastors, program directors and lay volunteers can find out about “Older Adult Ministries in the 21st Century” May 4 and 5 at First UMC, Corpus Christi.
The Rev. Richard H. “Rick” Gentzler Jr., director of the Center on Aging and Older Adult Ministries for the General Board of Discipleship in Nashville, Tenn., is the featured speaker for the seminar.
The program begins at 6 p.m. May 4 with an open forum.
The May 4 forum is free. Light refreshments are to follow the discussion.
The seminar continues May 5 with all-day discussions focused on designing a ministry program for older adults.
The emphasis May 5 is to be on the psychological and spiritual issues facing older adults and those who minister to them.
The May 5 program runs from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The May 5 program costs $25 per person. The fee covers materials and lunch.
Registration deadline is April 8.
