“What you always wanted to say to your District Superintendent but were afraid to say” is the topic for the district professionals meeting Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Luke’s UMC, 3151 Reid Drive, Corpus Christi.

Congregations pay 94.68% of 2004 apportionments
Corpus Christi District congregations paid 94.68 percent of their 2004 apportionments. Thirty-nine of 44 congregations paid 100 percent.

St. John’s men support Salvation Army relief effort
The United Methodist Men of St. John’s UMC, Corpus Christi, recently gave $500 to the Salvation Army’s Tsunami Relief Fund.

Church offers free books to promote area literacy
The library at Oak Park UMC, Corpus Christi, gives away brand new books every Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon.
Some books are best sellers. Some are Book of the Month Club selections.
The weekly book giveaway supports literacy in the community. Because books are in high demand, the library limits each person to three books.
