Corpus Christi District schedules
2nd church transformation event
Church Transformation training with Dr. Don Nations has been scheduled for March 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at First UMC, Portland.
Nations is an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church and is the founder and lead coach of DNA Coaching, based in Florida.
Twenty-eight churches in the Corpus Christi District are participating in the transformation process. The workshop is designed for both clergy and laity, especially laypeople in leadership roles.
The Church Transformation process requires hard work; a healthy partnership between laity and clergy; committed, competent leadership of both laity and clergy; and a willingness to use new strategies to reach new people.
Information gained from the workshop is to help churches shape both present and future ministry. Reports from many of our participating churches are already showing the benefits of this transformation process.
All participating congregations are encouraged to bring as many laypeople as possible.
Here’s the event schedule:
> 9:30-11 a.m.—The Journey Through Change: Stages of transformation related to stages of death and dying.
> 11-11:30 a.m.—What Does It Take to Follow the Leader? Three key questions for all Christians.
> 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.—Lunch on your own.

> 2:15-2:30 p.m.—Break.
> 2:30-4 p.m.—Lessons for Leaders: Addressing structure, recruiting, nominating, space, and more.
