Mission fair shares information about Advance Specials

A mission fair was part of the McAllen District leadership training event Jan. 22 at First UMC, Mission.
Featured were ministries and agencies approved as McAllen District Advance Specials, Southwest Texas Conference Advance Specials in the district, and General Board of Global Ministry General Advance Specials particular to the district.
The Southwest Texas Conference “5-Star Church” program was discussed.
Participants learned about United Methodist mission board programs such as the United Methodist Committee on Relief, international and local disaster response, The Advance for Christ and His Church, and covenant relationships for missionary support.
Volunteers in Mission and other opportunities to use our gifts in service to all of God’s people were also discussed.
