Dream Center needs donations
for food pantry, men’s shelter
The Dream Center in Austin is having a spring food drive March 19 through April 9 for our Have a Heart Food Pantry.
We fed more than 2,000 in January and want to ensure a continual food supply while we ramp up the Green Bean Church Food Program.
The food pantry needs oatmeal, boxed cereal, canned corn, canned green beans, canned peas, canned fruit, canned tomatoes, tuna, peanut butter, pinto beans (1 pound bag), rice (1 pound bag), macaroni and cheese, diapers, baby foods, and baby wipes.
Donations can be dropped off at the Dream Center Austin, 4800 S. First St., from 9 a.m. through 8 p.m. during the week of April 9.
If you’re interested in the Green Bean Church, you can find information at www.dreamcenteraustin.org/GreenBeanChurch2.html.
The Dream Center is now a Travis County Access to Recovery provider and will soon have a “full house.” To help provide a positive home environment for the men of our Nehemiah House, we have added a recreation room.
We’re still in need of a few items: weight bench with weights, ping-pong table, two card tables, two bookcases, new or lightly used Christian books for men, men’s Study Bibles, devotional books for men, and new or used VHS or DVD movies (suitable for a men’s Christian housing facility).
You can see our complete wish list at www.dreamcenteraustin.org/WishList2.html.
