Corpus Christi center thanks Valero for gift

Children of the Wesley Community Center of Corpus Christi say “Thank You, Valero” for providing the generous $12,000 check to upgrade the flooring at the center.
Wesley Community Center’s board members were invited to ceremonies at which the community sponsors of Valero’s recent golf tournament and the boards of the child-care agencies receiving funding from the proceeds of that tournament were recognized. Proceeds from this golf tournament were awarded to some 20 local childcare agencies, which included Wesley Community Center. The Corpus Christi center applied for funds to redo the original flooring there.
Valero is a community-minded corporation that chooses a focus for each year’s tournament proceeds, and the 2007 focus was “Working With Children.” We of the board join our children in expressing our deep appreciation to Valero for this generous gift, which will allow us to replace and upgrade the original flooring put in by the Carmelite Order of nuns, from whom we are purchasing the building. This work would not have been possible without Valero’s gift.
