Panel adopts campaign them
for new church fundraising effort

Southwest Texas United Methodists may soon have an opportunity to join in “Offering Christ Today for Tomorrow.”
That’s the theme for a proposed $5 million capital fundraising campaign set to begin in June.
The scriptural basis for the campaign is “That the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and rise up and tell their children” (Psalm 78:6).
The Capital Campaign Oversight Committee adopted the theme and scripture citation for the three-year campaign March 13.
The panel forwarded the $5 million goal and four campaign priorities to the New Church Development Commission for approval.
The proposed funding priorities are:
> Financial support for new church pastors.
> Assessment and training for new church pastors.
> Land acquisition for new churches.
> Money to create new church “starter kits” and related resources.
