Event planned to fete
departing superintendent

The Rev. Robert Hall, superintendent of the Austin District, is to be honored at a reception Sunday, May 21, in Austin.
The reception is planned for the Great Hall of the Schmidt-Jones Family Life Center at First UMC, Austin, from 3 to 5 p.m.
First UMC is at 1201 Lavaca St., adjacent to the State Capitol.
Hall, who has led the Austin District since 1999, has been appointed to Tarrytown UMC, Austin. He is to follow the Rev. James L. Mayfield as senior pastor.
Mayfield, who has served the 2,144-member Tarrytown congregation since 1988, is retiring.
The Rev. Kim Cape, currently superintendent of the McAllen District, is to succeed Hall as superintendent of the Austin District.
The appointments are to be effective after the June 7-10 Southwest Texas Annual Conference session in Corpus Christi.
