Retreat set to bring men, boys
together in service, fellowship
United Methodist Men are sponsoring a conferencewide working retreat for men and boys April 28 through 30 at Mount Wesley Conference Center, Kerrville.
The purpose of the event is to equip men to become disciples through hearing God’s word in their hearts. UM Men hope to use this retreat to offer Christ to all by being examples for youths.
Young men from 12 to 18 are invited as special guests of UM Men.
The retreat is geared toward men and boys in fellowship as they participate in work projects at Mount Wesley. Other activities, such as singing and toe tapping to the music of Bill Meadows and his musical crew, are planned. Also featured is BuffaloGrass, a musical group from Manchaca UMC.
The spiritual leaders are the Rev. Harry Kahl, Southwest Texas Conference congregational growth director; the Rev. Warren Hornung, senior pastor, First UMC, Kerrville; and Jay Cooper, Austin District youth director.
Stay for a full weekend for $110, or come Saturday for $45. If you plan to commute for the weekend, the registration is reduced to $75. There is no charge for guests, although they must register.
