Wilson Wade, retired pastor, dies March 21 in Austin
The memorial service for the Rev. Wilson Wade was April 2 at University UMC, Austin.
A retired Southwest Texas Conference clergy member, Wade, 78, died March 21 in Austin.
Wade began his ministry in 1960 in the Texas Conference. He transferred to the Southwest Texas Conference in 1965 and served congregations in Austin, Bloomington, Fentress, Lytton Springs, Prairie Lea, San Antonio and Seadrift. He retired from active ministry in 1996.
Earl Stephen Raby dies April 2 in San Angelo at 81
A funeral for the Rev. Earl Stephen Raby was April 6 at Windcrest UMC. Burial followed in Eagle Lake.
Raby, 81, a retired Southwest Texas Conference clergy member, died April 2 in San Angelo.
Raby began his ministry in 1945 in the United Brethren Church. He served congregations in Pennsylvania and Ohio before coming to San Antonio in 1964 to become pastor of First Evangelical United Brethren Church. That congregation became Albright UMC in 1968 after the EUB and Methodist churches merged. Raby served the congregation until he retired from active ministry in 1985.
Registration deadline nears for May U.M. ARMY camp
Registration deadline is April 20 for the U.M. ARMY college camp scheduled next month in San Antonio.
The May 21-27 UM Action Reach-Out Mission by Youth college camp is open to anyone one year out of high school and under age 25.
U.M. ARMY is a mission program that helps people who need home repairs.

UM pastor to give keynote on responsible investing
A UM pastor is to deliver the keynote address to the Socially Responsible Investment Coalition educational event April 20 in San Antonio.
The Rev. David Schilling, director of global corporate accountability for the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, New York City, is to discuss “Ethical Business in China: Dilemmas and Opportunities.”
The educational event is to run from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Oblate Renewal Center. Registration fee is $50 per person. For information call (210) 344-6778.
