You can still catch ‘Helicopter Cowboy’

More than 200 people attended the Camp Thicket Roundup March 13, a benefit that raised more than $5,500 for the camp.
The highlight of the Camp Thicket Roundup was a humorous and entertaining presentation by Jimmy Tiller, which included pictures taken during his 20 years as a “helicopter cowboy” on the King Ranch.
Tiller offered the presentation March 13 as a gift to Camp Thicket and to the churches of the McAllen District. His book, The Adventures of a Helicopter Cowboy, is sold at Barnes and Noble for $45. Tiller donated $30 to Camp Thicket for every book sold.
The McAllen District Conference voted to support Camp Thicket with $50,000 in apportionments to help cover operating costs. Thanks to the Tillers and your wonderful support, that amount is now $44,500.
Thanks to the district trustees, the South Building floor has new tile, and the bathrooms will be tiled before the April women’s Walk to Emmaus.
These improvements were covered by Camp Thicket building funds and are part of the larger plan to make the camp more attractive, increasing its usage.
If you missed the live event, you can still see the show!
