Mission team from St. Mark heads to Kenya

Jesus called the very first disciples to “Go and make disciples of all nations.” Once again he has called—to a team at St. Mark UMC, McAllen.
Our team will embark July 14 on our “Quest for Kenya,” departing from Houston to go to Maua, Kenya. We will work on projects at the Maua Methodist Hospital. We’ll also work on a project for orphaned children whose lives have been torn apart by the AIDS virus. This project has built houses for orphaned children and placed a “surrogate grandmother” in the home to nurture them.
Our trip will take us to Meru, Kenya, where we will work on a bio-intensive farm. This project works with local women and trains them to grow better crops to help their families with more nutritional foods.
We have a “Re-Quest for Kenya.” Please keep our team, our fund-raising efforts and the people that we will touch in your daily prayers.
Our Volunteers in Mission team has been working to make this vision a reality since January 2004.
The St. Mark Quest team members are Mary Barrera, Elaine Bready, April Cavazos, Lee Ann Chandler, David Edger, Carroll Frankenberger, Ruth Garcia, Jenna Heart, Michelle and Michael Hetrick, Jennifer Rodiguez, and Jerimey Wicke.
We will return July 29. And from that moment on, we will forever be changed people.
