Brief ‘famine’ teaches
youths about hunger

More than 50 youths and adults from Grace UMC, Corpus Christi, participated in World Vision’s “30 Hour Famine” to raise awareness of poverty the world over and the plight of the children it affects.
The group not only went without food for 30 hours but also worked at the Corpus Christi Food Bank, collected canned goods for their church’s food pantry and raised more than $500 for World Vision.
Being really hungry not only gives you a glimpse of what it feels like but presents an opportunity to get close to God through prayer and Bible study.
