Austin District men’s meeting features fellowship, breakfast
 All men are invited to the Austin District Men’s quarterly meeting May 12 at Dripping Springs UMC.
Speakers will include Chaplains Mario Renteria and Rick Randall of the Austin Police Department.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The morning’s program will conclude with Holy Communion.
Please bring white socks for the group’s support of Austin Resource Center for the Homeless. Members are making a special request for teddy bears for the Victim Services Unit of the Austin Police Department.

Gospel brunch, special worship bring Wesley women together
The Women of Wesley UMC, Austin, are to celebrate their Annual Women’s Day with a “Gospel Brunch” in the church fellowship hall May 19 at 11 a.m. Tickets cost $15 each.
A special worship service is planned for May 20 at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. Theme is “Building Each Other Up in the Spirit of God.” Featured speaker is to be the Rev. Frankye A. Johnson, superintendent of the South Oklahoma City District of Oklahoma Conference. Johnson is the first African American woman to serve The United Methodist Church
in Oklahoma as a district superintendent.

District Conference scheduled May 20 at Manchaca UMC
The 2007 District Conference and annual conference briefing are scheduled for May 20 at Manchaca UMC.
The District Board of Missions meets at 4 p.m. Voting members are the senior pastor and elected
Mission Board representative from each charge.
The District Conference begins at 5 p.m. Voting members are clergy and lay members of the annual conference.

Austin District Preteen Camp set for June 10-13 in Kerrville
An Austin District Preteen Camp is set for June 10-13 at Mount Wesley Conference Center, Kerrville. The camp is for children who have completed third through the fifth grades. The District Office is looking for campers and counselors. Cost for campers is $175. Cost for counselors is $50. UM Women to host lucheon June 7 at annual conference

The UM Women will host a luncheon June 7 at 12:15 p.m. during the 2007 annual conference session at the American Bank Center, Corpus Christi. Cost is $15 if reservation is made by May 15. After that date, reservations are $17. Free childcare and child’s lunch are provided during the luncheon with advance reservation.

General secretary of UM Men to speak at June 8 luncheon
The Rev David Adams, general secretary of the General Commission on United Methodist Men, is to be guest speaker for the United Methodist Men’s luncheon June 8 at noon during the annual conference session in Corpus Christi.
Use the order form in the Precon-ference Report to ensure a seat at the luncheon. Tickets will be sold for $15 while they last.
