Vision Seekers registration is now open for 2004-2005
The Corpus Christi District has just concluded the seventh year for Vision Seekers, and we are accepting applications for 2004-2005.
The purpose of this program is to offer wide-ranging, in-depth leadership training to laypeople who are or who will be leaders in their local congregations and in the district.
Participants are given the opportunity to learn more about themselves and our denomination. The eight-month course runs from September through April. Classes meet twice a month from 7 to 9 p.m. at the District Office, and there is no homework! Topics include leadership styles, spirituality, futuring, visioning, leadership, church history/polity/UMC connections, UMC resources, new vision for ministry/inclusiveness, team ministry, small groups, youth ministry, stewardship, missions, evangelism, Christian education, lay speaking ministry, spiritual gifts/equipping ministry and worship. Presenters include both clergy and laity from the district and conference.
Call now for a brochure. We are looking for laypeople who are highly committed and desire to know more about the church in which they serve. Please direct all nominees and requests for information to Cheryl Worley, district program director, (361) 852-8268, or cworley@prodigy.net.
