Lutie Watkins church confirms record group

Members of the largest confirmation class in recent memory at Lutie Watkins Memorial UMC, Llano, stand with their pastor, the Rev. David Griffin (center). The 14 confirmands are (from left) Travis Tucker, Amy Center, Charlie Durham, Jacklyn Lockhart, Clayton Maples, Lauren Parker, Ethan Holland, Jordan Ashabranner, Forrest Hoerster, Stephanie Schorck, Clare Tucker, Allie Rostron, Erik Forrister and Jarrett Brice. They were confirmed May 9. Five of the 14 were also baptized that day. Confirmation candidates took part in 12 weeks of confirmation-training activities. Those included weekly meetings with mentors, a field trip to United Methodist ministries outside Llano, the Kerrville District Confirmation Rally and individual conferences with Griffin.
