Clothes Closet for Homeless Men looking for volunteer workers
The Clothes Closet for Homeless Men at the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless is looking for volunteer workers. If you live a distance from the center, you can help in other ways, such as collecting clothing or making a cash donation.

Religion communicators group presents programs at Asbury
The Religion Communicators Council has scheduled several programs at Asbury UMC,
1605 E. 38½ St., Austin. Here are the next two:
n June 13—Conducting a successful fundraising campaign. The panel includes Helen Osman, spokeswoman for the Catholic Diocese of Austin; Scott Whitaker, director of stewardship and development for the diocese; and Brad Patterson of CCS Consulting, which helped the diocese raise $82.6 million.
n July 11—Politics and the pulpit. The speaker is Ray Cano of the Internal Revenue Service.
Meetings run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers.
Scholarship fund established to aid Austin District pastors
Recognizing the growing need for inspired young pastors and the rising cost of their education, Austin District United Methodists can now support promising ministerial leaders through a recently established scholarship endowment fund.
This endowment, known as the Austin District Clergy Scholarship Fund, serves the sole purpose of making educational funding available to individuals from the Austin District pursuing a master of divinity degree.
