District thanks Hall for
leadership as superintendent

The Austin District honored District Superintendent Robert Hall with a reception May 21 at First UMC, Austin.
Clergy and laity from throughout the district came to bid Hall farewell and thank him for his leadership.
Guests enjoyed fruit, cookies, punch and a chocolate raspberry ganache cake prepared by Casey Taylor of Pascal’s Catering.
The Rev. Bobbi Kaye Jones of St. John’s UMC, Austin, gave the opening prayer. Individual thank-yous and anecdotes were offered by district superintendency chair Bob Duke, district Lay Leader Charles Akins, district trustees chair Marvin Morgenroth and the Rev. Sylvester Chase, pastor of Wesley UMC, Austin.
Hall was given a keepsake scrapbook filled with letters, pictures and church mementos compiled by the Rev. Tina Carter, pastor of The Rock UMC, Cedar Park; Ruth Murphy; and Susan Dubois.
Hall has led the Austin District since 1999. He has been appointed senior pastor of Tarrytown UMC, Austin.
