San Angelo District UM Women meet at First UMC
First UMC, San Angelo, was the meeting place for San Angelo District United Methodist Women in February.
A special thank you goes to the local unit, Charlene Bustos, spiritual growth secretary, for planning with the district team and Jeanie Elder, local unit president, for carrying the program throughout the day. Sixty-seven ladies from across the district were present.
Six ladies attended the Lenten Retreat at Mount Wesley Conference Center in Kerrville in March. It has been several years since the San Angelo District attended, so, ladies, let’s attend all the meetings at Mount Wesley. You miss study, fellowship and fun with the other districts by missing these adventures.
Women from First UMC, San Angelo, had a covered-dish dinner May 6 and invited Dawn Foster of Sterling City, past president of the district UMW, to bring the program. She is the district representative on the Committee on Status and Role of Women. If you need a speaker for your unit, consider Dawn. She has a wealth of information to share, such as: What year were women seated as delegates to the General Conference? What year were women granted full clergy rights?
Special thanks to all units that made cookies and all who delivered them to annual conference.
Thank you also to Dianne Simpson, who has edited our San Angelo District booklet. If you have officer changes, don’t forget to let her or Betty Smith know.
