‘Heart of Christianity’ dialogues
slated June 29, July 6 at Fashing
Fashing UMC is presenting “The Heart of Christianity” June 29 and July 6.
Taped talks by world-class Jesus scholar Marcus Borg are being shown from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Church pastor, the Rev. Jack Bush Sr., is to moderate questions and answers following each talk.

Big fish fry to follow special
God, country service July 2
The biggest fish fry in Karnes, Atascosa, Wilson and Live Oak counties combined is set for July 2 at Fashing UMC. The meal runs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., beginning after the annual God and Country service at 10 a.m.
“Doc” Jones of Montgomery, Texas, will be the guest speaker at the worship service. He is a retired general and the former vice chief of chaplains of the U.S. Air Force.
Dr. and Mrs. Lyn Esse and Bernice Schroeder are in charge of this event. Tickets are on sale for $10 at Fashing UMC.
