Church founder to be honored
for 91 years of service to city
In September 1915, the Rev. E.E. Boone went door to door to get people to join a new Methodist church. That congregation became South Bluff UMC, Corpus Christi.
Members of South Bluff UMC are to celebrate Boone’s 91 years of service to Corpus Christi, The United Methodist Church and the neighborhood Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m.
Part of the celebration is to be the official dedication of Boone’s Bible. Family members had the Bible rebound, and it was placed back in service Feb. 12.
An open house is to precede the event.
The South Bluff UMC congregation wishes to invite all former members and pastors to this event.
