Bishops issue appeal for Katrina
recovery special offering Aug. 27

The areas of the United States devastated by Hurricane Katrina almost a year ago are still trying to recover.
United Methodist bishops have issued a national appeal for an offering to provide relief specifically for these areas. Conference churches are asked to participate in this offering Aug. 27.
At this year’s Southwest Texas Annual Conference session, delegates saw a brief video about the continuing crisis. Several copies of the video presentation are available from the District Office to inspire generosity for people still living with this devastation.
