Council begins
planning for
2006 dialogues
Council on Ministries leaders took the first steps last month toward proposing more dialogue sessions for the 2006 annual conference session.
After reviewing feedback forms from participants in the June 3 dialogue sessions in Corpus Christi, council chair Carol Loeb is naming a design task force. It is to meet Aug. 4 to begin planning for the 2006 meeting.
The group is expected to present an initial proposal to the fall Council on Ministries meeting Oct. 1.
“We’ve heard you,” Loeb said, referring to the feedback. “We are trying to respond to what the people asked for.”
Comments indicated that participants like the idea of dialogue sessions. But many wanted smaller gatherings and more time to discuss questions facing Christians in today’s culture.
Several people noted that their groups never addressed the questions most important to them.
