UM Men plan Aug. 12
quarterly meeting

All men are invited to the Austin District United Methodist Men’s quarterly meeting Saturday, Aug.12, at First UMC, Bastrop.
The guest speaker will be Glenn Wintemberg, president of the National Association of Conference Presidents of United Methodist Men. His topic will be “The Legacy of Man.”
Come and enjoy Christian fellowship. Hear an inspiring Christian message, and enjoy a wonderful breakfast prepared by the church UM Men. Registration and coffee starts at 7:30 a.m., and breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. We will conclude with a service of Holy Communion.
 First UMC is at 1201 Main St., Bastrop, just a short drive from Austin. It is centrally located to the churches in the eastern part of the Austin District. The host church location will be a different venue from what we’ve been accustomed to, so let’s plan on filling our church vans. Also consider car pooling.  The Austin District UM Men meet quarterly. The next gathering will be Nov. 18 at Memorial UMC, Austin. The guest speaker at that meeting will be Bob Lively. He will speak on “What God Expects of Us” (from the prophet Micah).
 Please encourage young men in your congregation to attend (and bring them with you).
 Bring white socks for support of A.R.C.H. (Austin Resource Center for the Homeless). Your help in this ministry is greatly appreciated.
