Young Women! Shine! event planned
Young women ages 14 through 30 will be gathering at Mount Wesley Conference Center, Kerrville, Dec. 28 through 30. The event is Young Women! Shine!, presented jointly by the United Methodist Women of the Southwest Texas and Rio Grande conferences.
Women are to come from all over Texas and New Mexico to experience dynamic and creative worship, Bible study and spiritual growth, leadership development, and issues facing young women. They are to enjoy exciting fellowship and a supportive community.
Plan fund-raising events now to send young women from your church.
Scripture focus will be Matthew 5: 14-16:
You are the light of the world—like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see. Don’t hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
A $125 fee will cover two nights’ lodging and five meals. Women age 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult sponsor age 26 or older. Childcare will be available for an additional $60-per-child fee. Registration forms will be available in Sep-tember after workshop topics are confirmed. Registration deadline is Nov. 18. Registrar is Jacque Albrecht, (210) 495-1571 or albrechtjc@hotmail.com.
