CC District South celebration slated
Mark your calendar for the Corpus Christi District South awards celebration.
It will be Sept. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at First UMC, Corpus Christi.
Award nominations must be received by Aug. 1. Send completed nomination forms with color photographs of nominees to Stephanie Creech, district lay leader, 3510 Gollihar Road, Corpus Christi 78415.

Kids to be focus of Aug. 27 meeting
The Council of Children’s Ministries is sponsoring a Weekday Ministries Workshop Aug. 27. The workshop will be at First UMC, Harlingen, beginning at 8 a.m. The theme is “Unlock the Treasure of God’s Love.”
Leigh Gregg, pastor of Veribest UMC, is to be keynote speaker. Registration of $30 ($25 before Aug. 8) includes lunch and materials. Registration deadline is Aug. 12.

This workshop is the third of three scheduled across the Southwest Texas Conference. Others are July 23 in San Antonio and July 30 in San Angelo.
