School supplies needed for children in Mexico

School supplies are an expense that parents of poverty-stricken families in Mexico find impossible to handle. Yet school supplies are necessary for their children’s education.
We will be collecting items for school packs for such children. The more we collect, the more children we will be able to assist.
A list of items for a school pack is listed at right (new items only, please). We would like to pack all items for one child in a backpack/school bag. Completed packs, as well as individual items, may be sent (perhaps you know of a source for particular items).
As always, if you prefer to make a monetary contribution, the funds would be used to purchase these supplies. For $20, we can supply one child with a backpack and the items listed here.
Funds are also needed to help purchase school uniforms required in Mexico. Two uniforms are needed per child. The cost of two uniforms is about $30.
We ask that these items be collected for distribution before the school year starts. The school packs will be distributed to children by pastors in Mexico.
The school-supply effort is a project of the Methodist Border Friendship Commission (GBGM Advance No. 982443).
