District retreat registration due before Sept. 24

The Corpus Christi District is offering its annual fall retreat, “A Day at the Sea,” at Mustang Island Conference Center, Corpus Christi. The retreat begins at 4 p.m. Sept. 28 and concludes at 4 p.m. Sept. 29.
The Rev. Kelley Nemeck, O.M.I., will be the featured speaker, and his topic is “The Cosmic Christ According to the Thought of Teilhard de Chardin.”
Nemeck is director of Lebh Sho-mea, a contemplative-eremetical House of Prayer in Sarita. Nemeck is well known to United Methodist clergy members in South Texas for his leadership in the Listening Heart retreat, which was sponsored by the Spiritual Formation Committee of the Southwest Texas Conference Board of Discipleship. He is a noted author and spiritual director.
Laypeople, clergy members and church professionals seeking spiritual renewal and growth are encouraged to attend.
Registration for the event is $75 per person and is limited to 40 people. Registration deadline is Sept. 24.
The annual retreat is under the direction of the District Leadership Development Team.
