4 experienced teachers to lead mission studies at UMW meeting
Four experienced teachers are to lead the 2006-07 Mission Studies during the Corpus Christi District United Methodist Women Annual Meeting Sept. 23 at First UMC, Portland.
Three leaders taught at the Southwest Texas Conference School of Christian Mission in July. The fourth is well-known in this district as a teacher.
Shelley Ross, who with her husband, Robert, served in several churches in the Corpus Christi District, is to teach the session on India and Pakistan.
The Rev. Steve Clinton, former pastor of Island in the Son, Corpus Christi, is to teach the study Globalization.
JoAnne Wilshusen, former Corpus Christi District UMW president and veteran teacher throughout the conference, is to teach Shalom, Salaam, Peace.
Maudi Van Winkle, from New Braunfels, leader of children and youth mission studies in a number of conference Schools of Christian Mission, is to be lead teacher of children and youths from local churches in the India and Pakistan study for children.
Local churches should have at least one member in each class. This training is an important link in the adult education program of the Women’s Division of the UM mission board.
