Welcoming congregation workshops
scheduled for district clergy, laity

Information about the United Methodist Church’s Igniting Ministry campaign, with emphasis on becoming a certified welcoming congregation, will be offered next month.
A program for pastors is scheduled during the district professionals meeting Sept. 15 at First UMC, Mathis. The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. and continues through 12:30 p.m.
A second session, this one for laity, is planned for Sept. 24, 9 a.m. to noon, at First UMC, Beeville.
These “how to” sessions will tell you how to implement a successful campaign.
Both will be presented by Douglas Cannon, conference director of communications and public witness.
Becoming a welcoming congregation is one of the ways we can be sure our churches are truly offering Christ to all.
