District UMW annual meeting set

“Cornerstones of Hope” is the theme around which the Corpus Christi District United Methodist Women’s 2005 Annual Meeting will unfold. The meeting is scheduled for Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Wesley Community Center in Corpus Christi.
The Rev. Barbara Ruth, Corpus Christi District superintendent, will install the newly elected district officers. Pastors whose church members will be installed as officers are invited to stand with them during their installation.
One highlight of the day’s activities will be a two-hour presentation of the three 2006 mission studies:
> India & Pakistan (geographic Study), presented by the Rev. Peter Aguilar.
> Public Education II (social issues study), presented by Clara Clemons, former conference president.
> Children of the Bible (spiritual growth study), presented by Jo Anne Wilshusen.
Children, too, can be a part of a special mission study—Children of Bible Lands. A children’s group will provide special music during worship.
This meeting will also be the occasion when women from across the district gather to worship, experience supportive fellowship, make their unit’s pledge to mission, remember those members from their units who have died since last we met, gather an offering, elect officers, hear reports, purchase program resources and share a meal together (for a $5 donation).
Remember to bring your Campbell products labels as well as toothbrushes for health kits.
