District retreat promises time
of spiritual renewal, reflection

The Corpus Christi District Leadership Development Team is playing host to a spiritual retreat Oct. 27-28 at the Mustang Island Conference Center, 7021 Texas 361, Port Aransas.
“A Day at the Sea” is to offer time to pray, listen and learn; find wholeness, harmony and well-being; regain personal focus and reflection; experience the presence of God within self; and heal.
The Rev. Kim Cape, Austin District superintendent, is to lead the retreat.
Cape grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and has served local churches for 16 years, including Grace UMC, Corpus Christi.
Spiritual formation and spirituality have been Cape’s keen interests for many years.
Laypeople, clergy members and church professionals interested in deepening their spiritual growth are invited to attend.
The retreat is to begin at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 and end at 4 p.m. Oct. 28.
Registration costs $75 and includes room, meals and retreat materials.
Registration deadline is Oct. 18. There is a limit of 40 participants.
