Alzheimers group relocates temporarily

The Sanctuary, the Alzheimer’s respite program that normally operates from Willenberg Fellowship Hall at Faith UMC, Austin, has temporarily relocated until renovation work is finished at the church.
The program is now operating from the fellowship hall at Kinney Avenue Baptist Church, 1801 Kinney Ave., each Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 
The mission of The Sanctuary is to provide family members with a break from the continuous care of those who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and any of the various forms of dementia through a weekly respite program.
The Sanctuary continues to recruit volunteers to serve as companions to the participants, provide music and singing, work with art, assist in the kitchen, and assist with recreational activities such as bowling.
