Austin District schedules lay speaker training

Cedar Creek UMC is playing host to the fall Advanced Lay Speaker Training course Nov. 11 and 18.
The title of the course is “Lay Speakers Create Disciple-Making Faith Communities.” The principle text is Next Church Now, which is available through the local Cokes-bury bookstore.
Course participants are encouraged to secure copies of the text before the start of the course.
Those seeking initial certification or recertification (every three years), may send their registration fee of $40 to Elley Morgan, Austin District Lay Speaking Ministries, 8603 Brookfield Drive, Austin 78758. The fee covers 10 hours of instruction required by The Book of Discipline and two noon meals. Checks should be made payable to Austin District Lay Speaking Ministries.
