Agency seeks stories for history
of Southwest Texas clergywomen
The United Methodist Church celebrates the 50th anniversary of full clergy rights for women in 2006.
A video and history booklet are being produced to mark the event. Each is to capture the journey and tell stories that are particular to the Southwest Texas Conference.
The Rev. Teresa Welborn, pastor of Lakehills UMC and chair of the Commission on the Status and Role of Women, is coordinating the projects. She is seeking stories that need to be shared about clergy-women in the Southwest Texas Conference. Stories may speak to the great joy of this celebration or they may reflect challenges clergy-women have faced.
Please remember that because of time and other limitations, not all stories can be included in the projects. However, please do remember the importance of continuing to tell and hear stories of the journey. Above all, it is our hope that these projects embody the rich diversity of our church.
