Clergywomen history stories sought
The United Methodist Church is celebrating the 50th anniversary of full clergy rights for women next year.
To celebrate, projects are being worked on, including a video and a history booklet. Each will capture the journey, and—even more—will tell stories that are particular to our annual conference. Stories may speak to the great joy of this celebration or they may reflect challenges faced.
If you have a story you’d like to share, please contact the Rev. Teresa G. Welborn, chair, Commission on the Status of Women, so it can be considered. Because of time constraints, not all stories can be used.
It is important to continue to tell and hear stories of clergywomen’s journeys. The commission hopes the history projects embody the rich diversity of our church.
