Bandera UMC couple returns Oct. 14
from veterinary mission trip to Romania
A couple from Bandera UMC returned Oct. 14 from a three-week missionary trip to Romania.
Conrad and Nancy Nightingale joined 11 other doctors of veterinary medicine and interpreters on the trip, which began Sept. 26.
The trip, sponsored by Seattle-based Christianity in Action, took the team to three Romanian universities.
The American veterinarians presented seminars on various topics and demonstrated surgical procedures.
During the evenings team members shared pizza with Rumanian veterinary students, led Bible studies and shared their faith stories.
Conrad Nightingale was asked to join the team because of his skills in arthroscopic surgery.
Nancy Nightingale and the team visited an orphanage near Clug Oct. 3.
Rumania has an estimated 15,000 orphans left from its long period of Communist rule, which ended in 1996.
Mission team members were asked to raise $16,000 to pay for Bibles distributed on mission trips. Bandera UMC contributed nearly $5,000 toward the goal.
