UM Center to mark 10th birthday Nov. 15

United Methodist Center workers are celebrating the San Antonio building’s 10th birthday this month with a special service and open house.
Bishop Joel N. Martinez is to lead an anniversary rite Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. The brief event is planned outside the front entrance.
Center staff members are inviting Southwest Texas United Methodists to an open house Nov. 13 through 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Visitors can take building tours and enjoy cookies and punch.
Southwest Texas Conference, Rio Grande Conference and San Antonio District staff members moved into the United Methodist Center in November 1996. The building took nine months to build and originally had nearly 18,000 square feet. An expansion in 2002 added another 2,800 square feet to the south wing.
Thirty-seven people currently work in the building.
