The free event, sponsored by the Southwest Texas Conference Board of Ordained Ministry and Council on Youth Ministry, runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at The Loft Coffeehouse.
Discussion topics are to range from youth ministry and ordained ministry to missions and college selection.
Speakers include the Rev. Tonya Burton, Phil Hoeflinger, Matt Pennington, Ross Taylor, Dean and Terry Webb, Josh Bell, Jason Pangiarella, the Rev. Rusty Teeter, and the Rev. Rusty Freeman. Justin Boddie is to lead worship,
A lunch and ministry fair are included.
Discovery Zone’s purpose is to introduce students to different ministries and allow them to explore their personal call to ministry, said Freeman, conference youth ministry director. He expects more than 40 students to attend.
Discovery Zones, scheduled around the conference since 2001, have inspired many students to enter fields of ministry, Freeman said. One past attendee is now a church youth director.
