First UMC, Goliad, begins raising funds

First UMC, Goliad, kicked off its capital funds campaign for a new Community Life Center with a celebration worship service and brunch Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon at Goliad Memorial Auditorium. About 70 people attended the event, hosted by the Stewardship Team. During the brunch, everyone was encouraged to write a prayer for the church on a small card. Following worship, everyone was given a balloon, and the prayer cards were tied on each one. Everyone then proceeded outside, where the balloons were released.
