December is time for Diaper Drive
The Children’s Advocacy Council reminds local congregations that December is Diaper Drive month. Diapers of any size, brand or type (preemie to pull-ups) may be collected any Sunday in December and donated to any neighborhood center, such as the Friendship Center in the Montopolis neighborhood of Austin, or a shelter in your community.

Pastor’s book group to meet Jan. 20
Huston Smith’s book The Soul of Christianity is the focus of the Jan. 20 Pastor’s Book Discussion Group.
The group meets every third Friday at noon at the District Office.
Bring a sack lunch.

Nominations for laity awards open
The Austin District will recognize Excellence in Lay Ministry and Innovation in Programming during the annual Laity Celebration Feb. 11.
Each congregation is encouraged to submit recognition forms for at least five people.
Deadline for nominations is Jan. 15. Contact the District Office at (512) 444-1983 or beth@umcad.org for submission forms.
