From church to
church, amen!

AMEN to the confirmation class of First UMC, Kingsville, for attending the church conference recently. After the learning experience, class members celebrated with pizza.
AMEN to Riviera UMC for refurbishing the beautiful stained glass windows. The windows were removed and taken to The House of Glass in Corpus Christi to be re-leaded and cleaned. They were reinstalled in May.
AMEN to the children of Christ UMC, Kingsville. They added to the excitement of the first Sunday of Advent by participating in the worship service. The children’s Sunday school class lit the Advent candles, and all the children participated in a discussion during Children’s Time, led by Martha Guerrero, of judges and use of power.
AMEN to First UMC, Raymond-ville, for playing host to a community Thanksgiving service. Christians from several congregations in Willacy County, including two from the Southwest Texas Conference and one from the Rio Grande Conference, were in attendance.
AMEN to Freer UMC for playing host to this year’s community Thanksgiving service. The church was reportedly packed with 152 people worshiping God, and visiting time afterward was said to be wonderful.
AMEN to the Port Isabel First UMC for preparing a beautiful worship service Dec. 10. The newly formed Altar Guild created the worship setting with a wreath and garland in every window, a Crismon Tree, an advent wreath, a manger scene and two new banners. The church choir, colorfully robed and framed in this setting, delivered  a beautiful and meaningful sermon in song as they presented this year’s cantata to a full house.
AMEN to Mercedes Community Theater for presenting “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” in the First UMC sanctuary. The players were adults and children from the community whose families attended the performance. The Mercedes Community Theater is an outreach ministry of the FUMC.
