Welcome to the web site for the Office of New Church Development and Transformation of the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. We are the ministry arm of the New Church Development Commission.
This office engages in two main types of ministry:
1. The development of new United Methodist congregations including the training of potential new church start pastors and lay leadership, siite selection and initial supervision of a new church through its launch to its chartery.
2. Transformation of existing congregations.
We work with churches of all types and stripes to enable transformation to the next level of ministry. Our theme verse comes out of Romans 12:1-2 for transformation, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God--what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (NRSV)
